Music is more than sound. A beat. A rhythm. It's the invisible stylist.
The beat that you hear often becomes the fabric that you wear. Crazy, I know. But it's true.
Some of my favorite artists, icons rather, such as Aaliyah, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston, and Amy Winehouse, are proof that fashion is just as much about rhythm as it is about the fabric. It is style, wellness, and soul woven together.
The perfect knit piece. Useful, as it's getting rather chilly outside.
Their music didn't just inspire looks - it grounded confidence, channeled sensuality, and a gave people a way to breathe in rhythm.

I like how that sounds.
You know how you plan a vacation? A time to travel and explore.
When you first step off the plane and breathe in the first breath of air of a new country. City. State.
It's unmatched.
When I first visited Mexico, let me tell you, I was in absolute shock. I could not believe that I was in a different country. Let alone by myself. I'm young, hot, and fun. Amongst all other things.
But not only can I now say that I have been out of the country, I have experienced a different culture. I have seen another part of the world. I have lived outside of what I was brought up to deem was possible. I had the freedom during the time to live. What I would love to be my everyday.
And just for a second. I got a glimpse of my highest self, a version of her.
Anyways.
It's similar to that. But imagine that feeling every time you press play.
Music isn't just aesthetic and tunes; it is medicine, energy, and healing.
Have you ever heard of the term, "Your love is my drug"?
Well. music is the antidote. It's powerful.
1. Soundtrack, Style, Seduction.

"I stay true to myself and my style, and I am always pushing myself to be aware of that and be original." - Aaliyah
It's 7pm. The girls (or guys) just called you and ordered you to throw on your most stylish fit for the night and come out!
You can't get dressed without music playing in the background, it's unnatural. Almost feels forbidden.
The right song shifts everything - your posture, swag, the way you tug at your sleeve or pop your collar.
(My own experience)
Aaliyah's If Your Girl Only Knew slides through the speakers and suddenly slipping on that heel with silk grazing the ankle feels like the sexiest combination in the world.
Whitney's I'm Your Baby Tonight gets you fired up and even the denim turns elegant. Pop in a piece of Trident bubblegum and you are looking in the mirror ready to take on the world like it is 1993.
Every playlist is a moodboard for body, skin, outfit.
Cue Amy's Valerie and eyeliner feels thicker, lipstick bolder.
You might even throw on a faux mole for effect.

Each of these artists turned music into a mirror, of your highest self. Teaching us that the clothes that we wear carry rhythm.
2. Fashion Walks..The Body Sings
"To live is to be musical, starting with the blood dancing in your veins. Everything living has a rhythm." - Michael Jackson
Runways prove it: music transforms how clothes move. Down to the speed, tempo, beat that the beautiful models strut down the runway to.
A silky dress without sound might be fabric, but when paired with Aaliyah's One in a Million beat, it glides - sneakers suddenly feel intentional.
Stevie's grooves make wide leg pants sway.
Similar to how your hair flows in the wind, music cascades through speakers to give it a guide or ruling.
The beat tells you what step to take, and which way to take that step. It's all in the rhythm!
Today's artists continue to take that torch and dress the world in the best way possible.
Times are increasingly hard and turning on your favorite song, or favorite album helps take just a little bit of that weight off of your shoulders.
So, the next time that you're feeling down or in a slump, turn on a song ang get to dancing!
Thank you for reading!
