A Day with Fewer Inputs

Food, Sounds, Simplicity

As we approach the end of January, we are coming to the close of an eventful month! Where New-Years resolutions are put into practice, constant decisions and lifestyle adjustments are made, the noise can be a bit on the louder spectrum.

A few day-to-day necessities are your go-to meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and a nice tune to turn on while enjoying the dish!

Meals and sound are two of the most frequent daily inputs that we ednure during the daytime. When both are simplified, the nervous system has less to manage or watch over. Check out a bit more insight into this idea below!

Low-Decision Meals

When you go into your kitchen during the daytime, you tend to decide what foods that you want to indulge in for that time. As we flow through the colder seasons, nourishment is key to our daily wellbeing! Foods with the extra tender, loving care will warm you up through the morning into the evening.

Meals that you may have as a comfort food or easy, quick dishes that you have leaned on for years on end. These daily decisions are choices that ultimately help navigate your wellbeing. The time alotted for cooking or a simple "What's on the menu for today?" is an easy decision. The go-to meals that work may be ones that you repeat for a certain period in time, from the nostalgia of the taste to a feeling that you get from every bite. The time for planning, debate, and impluse is cut short and you are moving on with your day!

The Sounds I Allow

A normal day is filled with different sounds. The ring of the teapot as it hits it's point for pouring, the tunes that play as a melody on the radio, and the sweet sound of your oven's timer as the cake is ready to be frosted. While the friction from the variety of audio can become a bit overwhelming, these are some examples of some sounds that may spark a little joy in your day!

When the noise gets too loud, a time comes where the need for lower volume arises. If working from home is an option for you, it may help to turn the television off during work hours. For times of self-care, a go-to remedy for me is Spa music! Whether applying a face mask or stepping into a steamy shower, the soothing sounds will elevate your experience while aleviating your stress.

Sometime during the day, taking some time to rest is the perfect balance to level out the activities of the day. A moment of silence can go a long way for taking a step back from the schedule and prepare yourself for your next choice!

Fewer Inputs, The Effect

Tomorrow's agenda may call for a simple dark roast coffee with a banana. That pairing would be a quick and easy nourishment for a gym-ready energy prep! Another day may require a pumpkin spice latte to compliment a cashmere sweater for your taste. The simple choices that come as first nature not only amplify your creativity, but they can help the trust in yourself remain tall! When you don't think about it too much, there's no room for second guessing. The less pressure created, the more calm is released.

Simplicity is effective and reliable. It is the perfect seasoning of choice to spice up your daily routine in an effortless motion!
